Bridging The Gap "Styling" With Keyla Marquez & Zoot Suit Screening

Join us for a styling workshop with Keyla Marquez, on culture preservation through fashion, celebrating Zoot Suits with a focus of story telling through clothes.

Keyla's extensive resume makes her a staple to Los Angeles fashion. In September Keyla will be launching her company, Lujo Depot, the first online wardrobe rental showroom for fashion industry creatives.

After the workshop we will be screening "Zoot Suit" . A Mexican-American gangster and others in his group are accused of a murder in which they had no part. They are then rounded up by the police because of their race and their choice of clothing. The film is a perfect example of story telling and historical preservation through clothes.

The Bridging The Gap series is a collaboration between Heavy Manners Library and El Cine, all events are donation base, with pre- registration required.
