Join us for a special screening of Edo Bertoglio's 1981 film 

 which portrays a day in the life of painter and street artist Jean-Michel Basquiat and the lower Manhattan art scene of the early 1980s. With cameos from New York underground legends like Debbie Harry, John Laurie, Fab 5 Freddie, Glenn O'Brien, and Vincent Gallo, 

 is an incredible document of a unique time in New York City with real and fictional elements. The film was shot before the meteoric rise of Jean-Michel Basquiat, and depicts his youth while he wandered the streets painting graffiti as SAMO.

The film will be accompanied by a solo set from Long Beach based musician, Smooth Jas. The screening will be donation based, with proceeds going to the space and performers.
