Special Visiting Design Workshop: 'Zine Vs. Magazine' with Kurt Woerpel. This two-segment workshop will focus on the strengths and specificities of print media in the digital age using the 'zine' and 'magazine' as contemporary (not dead) formats for exploration and dissemination. Using his background as a partner in @TXTbooks, a small publisher of risograph zines founded in 2014, and as the previous art director at Interview Magazine (2018-2024), Kurt will first compare and contrast zine and magazine designs, workflows, and distribution before leading a session for participants to create a publication or template of their choosing. Saturday September 7th, 3-6PM. Laptop with Indesign or multi-page layout software heavily encouraged.
